They love the community aspect of it.
They love being told what to do. Its so much easier than figuring out what is actually the right thing to do.
It makes everything so black and white.
Theres an easy right and wrong.
And its been shown that if you repeat something to yourself often enough, and surround yourself with enough people who are doing the same, you will believe it.
Even if this belief is false or dangerous.
