Hypothetically, it would be better to be a sociopath to achieve good goals.
You wouldn’t worry about harming people’s feelings. That said, this would only be a good thing if you were able to apply those skills towards a good end.
And, arguably, a sociopath has a very different definition of what is “good”.
Which leads us to the question of “What is the point of emotions?”.
Emotions seems to be evolutionary “bumpers” to keep us in the lane. To keep us from doing something that we might regret (in being killed) later.
Emotions remind us that people can do something for us in the future. If we don’t treat them well, they will never do anything for us.
And vice versa.
Its an interlocking trust mechanism.
