If CPG companies were able to convince the public for 50 years that fat and not sugar in your food is unhealthy and making you obese, then what other things are we currently unaware of?
Another example is smoking. For years smoking was considered healthy. Even when it was proven to be unhealthy it took years for the public to fully comprehend the message.
The same thing is currently happening with sugar. We know that excessive sugar is bad but the general population still isn’t aware how pervasive sugar is in products. e.g. how its used in “low-fat: products to add taste.
