Building good habits is physically hard.

When you know you should do something, whether its brushing your teeth or speaking up in a meeting, and its not a habit, you feel physical pain in your chest.

This pain leads your brain to default back to easier behavior.

Its hard to overcome on its own.

This is why its necessary to change the environment around you. To make it easier for you to complete the habit than to not complete it.

Whether that means betting with a friend, removing soda from your apt, or setting up a donation to a cause you despise if you fail.

Eventually, you’ll turn the behavior into a habit and you will flip the pain. You will feel pain if you don’t do the habit.
