Its the only way you’ll get it. Don’t back yourself in a corner thinking “Oh, they’ll never give it to me.”
If you’re good at what you do, if you put the effort in, you’ll get the value back by asking.
But, be prepared to hear no. Have other options. Don’t pin all your hopes on one client or employer.
Have multiple options so that you can continue to ask. You can play them off each other and get the value you deserve.
